The Senior Account will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of accounting information by compiling and analyzing financial data on a variety of transactions with generally accepted accounting principles and University policies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Prepare monthly journal entries and accruals Maintains the University charts of accounts Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations Prepare cash management reports and monthly cash receipts and disbursement analyses Prepare and distribute monthly departmental budget reports Reconcile cash accounts Reconcile student revenue from Bursar system to general ledger Support grant revenue reconciliation Assist in year-end close and various audits (i.e., year-end, uniform guidance, benefits plan audits) Work collaboratively with the Financial Aid, Bursar and other departments to complete projects Assist with special projects as needed Supervise and support the work of the Staff/General Accountant Other duties as assigned Salary Range: $75,000 - $90,000 Minimum Qualifications: A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in accounting. A bachelor’s degree in Finance or Business Administration/Management with relevant work experience will also be considered. Two to three years of experience in a business office environment is required, preferably in Higher Education Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication, problem solving and organizational skills Computer proficiency on Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, knowledge of Great Plains Ability to work independently and flexibility of completion of work assignments Knowledge of GAAP, FASB and Uniform Guidance for Federal and State Funding Why Choose Saint Elizabeth University?
