Base Pay $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 / Year Employee Type FT Salary Required Degree Doctorate Description The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Detroit (BGCGD) is seeking a compassionate, knowledgeable, and experienced Full-Time Psychologist to provide behavioral health leadership and clinical supervision across our Club sites. This role is ideal for a psychologist who is passionate about developing emerging clinicians, strengthening clinical systems, and supporting youth and families within a community-based setting. The primary focus of this position is the training, supervision, and professional development of psychology interns and behavioral health staff, while contributing direct clinical services, crisis response, and program development within the Club environment. The ideal candidate brings strong supervisory experience, a solid foundation in youth mental health treatment, experience mentoring student research and scholarly projects, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a dynamic, multidisciplinary youth-serving organization. A willingness to work independently, travel between sites, and build strong relationships with staff and families is essential. Key Responsibilities · Clinical Supervision & Training

• Provide individual and group clinical supervision to psychology practicum students and trainees.
• Support interns in developing clinical competencies in case conceptualization, treatment planning, documentation, ethical decision-making, and culturally responsive practice.
• Mentor interns in the development and implementation of research projects, program evaluation efforts, and scholarly presentations.
• Provide structured feedback, performance evaluation, and developmental guidance to support intern growth.
• Assist in cultivating a strong training culture within the Behavioral Health Department.

Direct Clinical Services ·Provide individual and family therapy to youth ages 6–24 as appropriate within the Club context.

• Deliver trauma-informed, culturally responsive therapeutic interventions.
• Provide crisis intervention, de-escalation support, safety planning, and post-crisis follow-up.
• Support case formulation and diagnostic clarity through clinical interviews and behavioral observation.

Program Development & Staff Support ·Provide consultation, coaching, and behavioral health training to Club staff and Behavioral Health team members.

• Support curriculum development and delivery of social-emotional learning, mental wellness programming, and psycho-educational workshops within the Club setting.
• Collaborate with Club leadership, caregivers, and community partners to address youth behavioral needs and strengthen systems of care.
• Contribute to the integration of mental wellness practices across BGCGD programming.

Research & Evaluation ·Support small-scale research initiatives and program evaluation efforts aligned with BGCGD goals.

• Mentor students in research design, data collection, analysis, and conference presentation preparation.
• Participate in professional dissemination activities as appropriate.

Administrative & Departmental Support ·Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential documentation in accordance with ethical and organizational standards.

• Support the overall mission, growth, and systems development of the Behavioral Health Department.
• Travel between multiple Club locations as needed.

Requirements ·Doctoral degree in Psychology (PhD or PsyD)

• Active and unrestricted license in the State of Michigan (LP)
• Minimum of 2 years of experience providing behavioral health services to youth
• Demonstrated experience providing clinical supervision to graduate-level trainees
• Experience mentoring or guiding student research projects
• Strong knowledge of trauma-informed care and culturally responsive practice
• Ability to travel to multiple Club locations within Detroit and surrounding areas
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
