Location: Phoenix, AZ 85034 (Hybrid)

Employment Type: W2 Contract – 6 Months

Pay Rate: $75.00 – $80.00/hour (determined by experience, paid weekly)

Role Overview:

BEPC is seeking an experienced APU Systems Engineer to support the design, development, integration, and verification of Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) control systems for advanced aerospace applications. This role will play a critical part in developing next-generation control system solutions, supporting model-based systems engineering (MBSE), digital engineering initiatives, system integration, and requirements management activities.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive aerospace systems engineering experience, strong control systems knowledge, and experience supporting safety-critical aerospace development programs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, design, integrate, and verify control systems for Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) applications
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop control system Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) and electronic controllers
• Execute and document engineering trade studies to support design decisions and program objectives
• Develop and implement MBSE and digital engineering architectures for APU control system programs
• Integrate control systems with APU platforms and supporting aircraft systems
• Develop, analyze, decompose, and validate system requirements
• Support control system architecture development and system-level design activities
• Develop and implement control algorithms and software supporting APU operation
• Perform control system integration, verification, validation, and testing activities
• Ensure compliance with aerospace industry standards, regulations, and certification requirements
• Support system troubleshooting and technical issue resolution throughout the development lifecycle
• Collaborate with engineering teams, stakeholders, and program leadership to achieve project objectives
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering team members as needed

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in:

• Aerospace Engineering
• Electrical Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering
• Related technical discipline
• Minimum 8 years of systems engineering experience supporting safety-critical aerospace development programs

Strong knowledge of:

• Control systems engineering
• Systems integration
• Requirements development and decomposition
• Verification and validation processes

Experience with:

• Control system design
• System implementation
• Testing and integration activities
• Experience conducting and documenting engineering trade studies
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and technical documentation abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience developing aerospace control systems for:

• Flight systems
• Experience with gas turbine engine control system components including:

• Aerospace certification standards and regulations
• Experience coaching, mentoring, and supporting engineering teams
• Familiarity with APU integration within aircraft systems
