Lead Software Engineer-Full Stack Java with AI tools expertise

As a Lead Software Engineer - Identity Access Management at JPMorgan Chase within the CTO Team, you will be part of a team that works to enhance, design, and deliver the software components of the firm’s state-of-the-art technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor of a software engineering team, you will need to execute software solutions through the design, development, and technical troubleshooting of multiple components within a technical product, application, or system, while gaining the skills and experience needed to grow within your role.The Identity and Access Management Team's culture is collaborative, and teams display a zeal to solve problems. Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code developmentWork collaboratively in an Agile team setup with team members located across different locations and time zones. Contribute to delivery success across teams as a technology coach and lead developerDrives team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes (e.g., AI-assisted code review/refactoring, test strategy acceleration, incident/root-cause analysis support), while establishing consistent validation standards (secure coding, peer review, automated testing) and promoting reuse of effective patterns across the team.Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation.Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities, to improve delivery flow across product and technology​.Mentor and develop team member’s skills in design, new technology, clean code, TDD, code review, and problem solving Investigating and liaising with product/customers to gain information about the program’s overall function and ends user experience. Incorporate non-functional requirements including Telemetry, Monitoring, Security, Alerts, Logs into Software solution. Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experienceExpert understanding of OOP concepts, Design Patterns, Extensive Software Analysis and Design experienceExpert in Copilot, Claude or other AI software toolsDemonstrated experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools (e.g., for coding, code review, test acceleration, troubleshooting) with the ability to set team expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; experience coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption within delivery practicesUnderstand requirements, technical design and ask the right questions to be able to come up with good quality solution.Evaluate upstream/downstream data and systems or technical implications and advises on mitigation actions.Experience with Java, Web Services (REST, API), Spring Boot, Microservices, Multithreading, database technology such as Oracle / MS SQL / CockroachExperience working with terraform or similar declarative Infrastructure as Code (IaC) toolsExperience working with Test automation such as Selenium, Cucumber, Blazemeter etc.Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skillsExperience with customer facing web applications, NOSQL databases such as Mongo, Agentic AIStrong interpersonal and communication skillsIndependent and self-motivatedCertification such as AI/ML, Java is preferredExperience leading a technical team JPMorganChase, one of the oldest financial institutions, offers innovative financial solutions to millions of consumers, small businesses and many of the world’s most prominent corporate, institutional and government clients under the J.P.
