About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years in Operating Room; First-timers accepted with over 3 years of OR experience and strong in Orthopedics License: Pending License accepted Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - Ability to perform general surgery, orthopedics, ortho trauma, and plastics Description: Days will consist of 3 twelve-hour shifts starting at 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM. Expect 4-6 call shifts in a 6-week schedule. Holiday coverage may be required if needed. Must be proficient in general surgery, orthopedics, ortho trauma, and plastics. Required certifications include ACLS and BLS. Travelers will float to other operating rooms based on staffing needs. Call hours are from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM on weekdays and from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM on weekends. Response time for calls is 45 minutes. The schedule may adjust based on staffing requirements. If called after midnight, team members are granted up to 8 hours of rest time. Travelers may be called in to provide breaks or shifts. Scrubbing is preferred, but circulating is required. All travelers will float within the service line as needed. Patient age groups include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. The daily census consists of over 50 cases. There are 14 operating rooms available. Work will be conducted with an interdisciplinary team that includes physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, and pharmacy. Equipment and protocols must be adhered to for safety and patient care standards. Ability to respond to various surgical procedures is essential. Overall, the role demands flexibility, skill in multiple surgical specialties, and the ability to work as part of a team.
