Histology Technician

Position Highlights:

• Position: Histology Technician
• Location: Evanston Hospital
• Full Time/Part Time: Full Time
• Hours: Monday-Friday, 11am-7:30pm, e/o weekend and rotating holidays

What you will do:

• Processing tissues using Xpress microwave rapid tissue processor
• Embedding: Manual and Automated using Sakura Auto TEK embedder
• Microtomy of paraffin embedded tissue blocks both manual and auto embedded
• Recuts of tissue blocks
• Special Stains
• IF cryotomy of skin specimens

What you will need:

• Education: Associates or Bachelors in Laboratory Science and Histology routine training or Completed accredited Histology Technology program.
• Certification: HT/HTL Certificate (ASCP), equivalent or eligible.
• Experience: 1 year experience in Histology Laboratory preferred
• Unique or Preferred Skills: Ability to perform manual embedding and microtomy of paraffin embedded tissue blocks.
