Odyssey House of Utah is looking for a Full-Time Psychiatric APRN to join our FACT Team!

Clinical Knowledge:
- Demonstrates knowledge of etiologies, risk factors, pathophysiology, presentation, and epidemiology of medical conditions.
- Performs psychiatric assessments of patients that are accurate, complete, concise, relevant, and appropriate for age, gender, and clinical problems.
- Orders appropriate diagnostic studies and correctly interprets the results.
- Utilizes critical thinking to synthesize and analyze collected data.
- Develops, implements, evaluates, and alters the care plan as needed.
- Manages serious mental illness based on knowledge of the indications, contraindications, side effects, interactions, and adverse reactions of pharmacologic agents and other relevant treatment modalities.
- Counsels and educates patients and families.
- Maintains accurate, complete, concise, and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Conducts comprehensive mental health assessment of patients with chronic mental health conditions.
- Establish psychiatric diagnoses and treatment plans.
- Collaborate with and provide expertise to the multidisciplinary team regarding patient’s treatment.
- Write specific orders within the limits of the practice agreement/scope of practice.
- Provide appropriate direction to the team regarding patient care issues.
- Communicate effectively with community partners.
- Participate in a team model of care delivery.
- Participate in quality assessment and improvement activities. Identify important aspects of care and ensure findings are used to improve practice and operations.
- Is responsible for timely and accurate written documentation or dictation of patient care encounters/procedures.
Patient Care:
- Provides care that is patient-centered, compassionate, appropriate, and effective for the promotion of health, prevention of illness, and treatment of disease throughout the lifespan.
- Facilitates consistent, coordinated care and clear communication among all team members.
- Incorporates the patient and family in care planning and treatment across settings.
- Serves as an advocate for patients and families in navigating the healthcare system
- Practice-Based Learning and Clinical Improvement:
- Demonstrates insight into own strengths, limitations, and knowledge deficits.
- Demonstrates initiative to meet identified learning needs using multiple resources.
- Actively participates in self-evaluation by seeking and utilizing guidance and constructive feedback in a professional manner.
- Continuously seeks opportunities for clinical advancement and knowledge and skill attainment.
- Communication and Interdisciplinary Collaboration:
- Communicates and collaborates effectively with members of the agency, other health professionals, and health-related agencies.
- Works effectively with multidisciplinary team members.

- Communicates effectively with patients and families, incorporating gender, age, culture, race, religion, disabilities, and sexual orientation.

Must-Have Requirements :
- Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited nursing or PA program
- Active Utah State license to practice within APRN/PA scope
- Active DEA license or ability to apply for such license
- Not excluded from participating in government programs (OIG exclusion list)
- CPR certification and advanced life support certifications, if relevant to the practice area
- (ACLS, PALS, NRP)
- Ability and/or willingness to become Medication Assisted Treatment waived
- Ability to care for acutely and chronically ill patients
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Professional demeanor
- Ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to prioritize tasks and complete required documentation with timeliness and accuracy
