Job Title: Warehouse Worker

Job Description

This role focuses on safely operating a variety of forklifts to move palletized beverage products throughout a large, temperature-controlled warehouse. You will load and unload freight trucks and rail cars, handle full pallet loads of beer, wine, soft drinks, and spirits, and use RF scanning systems to maintain accurate inventory and storage records.

Responsibilities

• Operate double-wide forklifts and 2-, 3-, and 4-stage sit-down electric forklifts to move palletized full pallet loads throughout the warehouse.
• Load and unload freight trucks and rail cars containing beer, wine, soft drinks, spirits, and related products.
• Use RF scanning systems and scannable barcodes on the floor and on placards to track inventory and storage locations accurately.
• Handle materials efficiently, including palletized products, using sit-down forklifts, pallet jacks, and reach trucks.
• Perform order picking, packing, and shipping and receiving tasks to support daily warehouse operations.
• Maintain organized stockroom and storage areas, ensuring products are stored safely and correctly.
• Follow established production, inventory, and material handling procedures to meet operational goals.
• Adhere to all safety guidelines while operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
• Support team members and leads by communicating clearly and contributing to a smooth workflow on the warehouse floor.

Essential Skills

• At least 1 year of experience working in a distribution facility with a focus on forklift operation.
• Proficiency in operating sit-down forklifts, including double-wide and 2/3/4-stage lifts.
• Experience with material handling, storage, and inventory processes in a warehouse environment.
• Ability to load and unload trucks and rail cars safely and efficiently.
• Capability to use RF scanners and work with scannable barcodes for inventory tracking.
• Skill in order picking, packing, and shipping and receiving activities.
• Comfort using pallet jacks, reach trucks, and other common warehouse equipment.
• Strong attention to safety and adherence to warehouse operating procedures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working with beverage products such as beer, wine, soft drinks, and spirits in a warehouse setting.
• Experience in production support, stockroom organization, and general warehouse operations.
• Ability to work effectively in a large, high-volume warehouse environment.
• Interest in growing into lead roles such as floor lead, shift lead, or management positions.

Work Environment

The role is based in a large, temperature-controlled warehouse facility maintained at approximately 50–60 degrees year-round. The environment features extensive storage areas with beer, wine, soft drinks, and spirits and relies heavily on sit-down electric forklifts, pallet jacks, reach trucks, and RF scanning systems. Employees work on a spacious warehouse floor with clearly marked barcodes and placards to support efficient inventory management and material handling in a modern, organized setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, OR.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
