A middle school in the Durham, NC area is seeking an Exceptional Children’s Teacher for the upcoming academic year. This is a contract position supporting students in a co-teaching special education classroom. Qualifications:

• Active North Carolina teaching license in special education, or eligibility for reciprocal certification with a current teaching license from another state
• Strong dedication to student growth and inclusion

• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Team-oriented approach, with flexibility to work in a co-teaching environment

Position Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement IEPs, collaborating with general education and special education colleagues
• Adapt curriculum to meet diverse student needs and learning styles
• Communicate with families and support staff regarding student progress and individual strategies
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment
• Maintain documentation and meet compliance standards
