This position is represented by the Writers Guild of America East.Responsibilities:Oversee rundown management, live reporter requests and more as Line ProducerAssist the Anchor, Executive Producer and Senior Producers in the supervision of the editorial vision of each day, including suggesting stories and guests for the showsWrite show scripts including news "readers," breaking news updates, teases, and moreServe as main back-up Senior ProducerSupervise and copy edit segment producers’ scriptsFacilitate rapid on-air reporting in breaking newsOriginate story ideasDetermine video and sound for assigned segmentsAssists in coordination of cross-platform large news events and special coverageQualificationsMust have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experienceMust have at least 5 years of experience in live television, preferably as a Line and/or Segment ProducerThorough knowledge of current events, US politics, geopolitics, foreign policy and historyExperienced writing scripts at the network or cable levelDesired Qualifications:Sound journalistic judgmentStrong organizational and interpersonal skills requiredAbility to quickly develop story, ideas, research and plan segmentsMust be detail oriented and able to work under pressure and meet multiple daily deadlinesAdditional Job Requirements:Must be willing to work in New York, NY.Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, under tight deadline pressure, including breaking news.Additional InformationAs part of our selection process, external candidates may be required to attend an in-person interview with a VERSANT Media employee at one of our locations prior to a hiring decision.
