These markets are served through a powerful portfolio of iconic and innovative brands, including CNBC, MS NOW, USA Network, Golf Channel, Oxygen, E!, SYFY, and Versant’s sports division USA Sports, along with complementary digital assets including Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow and GolfPass.Job DescriptionMS NOW is looking for an experienced Segment Producer for the new weekend show Connect with Jacob Soboroff - airing 10AM – 1PM on Saturday and Sunday with Jacob Soboroff.This position is represented by the Writers Guild of America East.Responsibilities:Research, report and write daily segmentsWrite and suggest interview questions for each segmentDetermine video and sound for assigned segmentsCommunicate daily story development with senior producerBe in control room during airing of live segmentTake part in editorial planningWork on content for digital platforms, social media and MS NOW’s DTC productsPitch story ideasQualificationsMust have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experienceStrong writing skills and knowledge of American politicsStrong research and reporting skillsAt least 5 years of experience in some form of journalism required (i.e. cable or network news, website, newspaper)Candidate should be able to deal with daily script deadline pressureDesired Qualifications:Possess ability to develop story ideas, research, and plan segmentsExperience with field tape production including scripting, shooting, and producing taped pieces.Ability to "book" guests, and work with graphics and video elementsExceptional editorial skills: Ability to recognize stories with high potential for provocative, compelling televisionKnowledge of current events, politics, and pop cultureWide-range reader of news, including op-edsProficient in both tape and desktop editingEdit room experience and breaking news experience is preferredAdditional Job Requirements:Must be willing to work in New York, NY Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United StatesMust be willing to work weekendsMust be willing and able to work flexible hours, under tight deadline pressure, including breaking newsThis position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks. Salary range: $93,000 - $110,000.
