About the Position

Job Title: Respiratory Therapist - NICU Profession: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Specialty: RRT-NICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night or Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years in Level 3 NICU or Level 2 Adult ICU License: Valid state license required in hand Certifications: ACLS, BLS, CRT, NRP, PALS, RRT, PALS or ENPC, CRT or RRT Must-Have: Level 3 NICU or IV level experience required. Neuro Trauma ICU experience preferred. Ability to float between departments. Must be flexible with scheduling. Weekend availability required every other weekend. Description: This position involves providing respiratory therapy services in a neonatal intensive care unit. Candidates must possess a valid state license and appropriate certifications. The role requires experience handling a variety of respiratory conditions and procedures. Responsibilities may include intubation assistance, monitoring ventilator settings, and conducting arterial blood gas analysis. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in high-risk deliveries and neonatal care practices. Experience with neonatal equipment and protocols is highly preferred. The workload will be consistent with unit acuity levels, and staffing ratios will be determined per hospital guidelines. Providers will need to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams. The successful candidate will be expected to work three of five major holidays, including Thanksgiving and Christmas. The position requires adherence to established policies regarding scheduling and time-off requests. All candidates must provide references that demonstrate relevant experience within the last three years. Candidates should prepare for potential floating between facilities as needed. Commitment to professional development and training is essential.
