Mechanical Engineering Professor for AI Training [Remote]

Contribute graduate and postgraduate level mechanical engineering expertise to train and evaluate next-generation AI systems by designing rigorous exam-quality assessment items and validating technical content. This remote contractor role focuses on converting advanced concepts into single-option multiple-choice questions, detailed answer rationales, and reviewing AI-generated materials for technical and pedagogical accuracy.

• Design and author single-option multiple-choice assessment questions at graduate or postgraduate complexity within mechanical engineering specializations.
• Translate advanced topics from Solid and Structural Mechanics, Dynamics and Vibration and Control, or Thermal-Fluids into challenging, exam-quality content.
• Write clear, detailed explanations and rationales for correct and incorrect answer choices, preserving academic clarity and technical precision.
• Review and validate technical accuracy and pedagogical quality of AI-generated mechanical engineering materials.
• Collaborate asynchronously with other subject matter experts and project coordinators to refine and improve content.
• Perform quality checks, revisions, and enhancements on contributed materials based on feedback and project standards.
• Maintain thorough records of assignments and submissions using the digital workflow tools provided for the engagement.

• Advanced degree preferred, PhD or MS in Mechanical Engineering; candidates with significant relevant teaching experience at university level will also be considered.
• Current or previous university-level teaching experience as a professor, adjunct, lecturer, or teaching assistant in one or more core areas: Solid and Structural Mechanics, Dynamics and Vibration and Control, or Thermal-Fluids.
• Experience authoring, grading, or reviewing graduate-level exams, problem sets, or coursework.
• Demonstrated ability to convert complex mechanical engineering principles into clear, exam-ready written content.
• Background in assessment design, rubric development, or educational content creation is a plus.
• Strong technical writing skills, excellent written and verbal communication, and meticulous attention to detail to ensure technical accuracy.
• Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working independently in a remote, asynchronous environment; familiarity with collaborative digital platforms and digital workflow tools.
