Respiratory Therapist - Per Diem

Role: Per Diem Respiratory Therapist responsible for assessing, planning, performing, and evaluating respiratory care treatments to meet patient needs. Key Duties: Conduct thorough patient assessments, establish care plans, administer therapies (e.g., aerosolized medications, oxygen, artificial airway care), initiate and manage mechanical ventilators, and provide patient/family education. Assist with intra-hospital transport, manage emergency airway situations, perform monitoring with devices like pulse oximeters, and support discharge planning. Collaborate with the healthcare team and assist in invasive procedures such as bronchoscopy and line placements. Serve as Shift Coordinator after one year and act as a preceptor for students and new staff. Ensure safety, regulatory compliance, and confidentiality of patient information. Qualifications & Skills: Graduation from a recognized Specialty Training Program, ability to perform advanced respiratory procedures, strong communication skills, and commitment to patient safety and quality care. Work Environment: Clinical setting with a focus on patient-centered care, teamwork, and safety protocols.
