Respiratory Therapist - Per Diem

Role: Per Diem Respiratory Therapist responsible for assessing, planning, performing, and evaluating respiratory care to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop appropriate care plans. Perform routine and advanced respiratory therapies, including aerosolized medications, oxygen therapy, and airway management. Manage mechanical ventilators and monitor patient status via non-invasive tools. Provide patient and family education on disease management. Assist with intra-hospital transport of ventilated patients and acute airway management in emergencies. Support procedures such as bronchoscopy, invasive line placements, and hemodynamic measurements. Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory standards, and patient confidentiality. Serve as Shift Coordinator and preceptor for new staff and students. Qualifications & Skills High School diploma or GED and graduation from a Respiratory Therapy program. Strong clinical assessment, communication, and teamwork skills. Ability to operate therapeutic modalities, mechanical ventilators, and monitoring equipment. Knowledge of safety standards, HIPAA, and regulatory requirements. Willingness to engage in professional growth and mentorship roles. Additional Details Flexible shifts including days, evenings, and nights with self-scheduling options. Minimum commitment of 24 hours per month.
