Join Resicum International LLCResicum International LLC is seeking highly experienced Aircraft Mechanic III – CDI/QASO personnel to support organizational-level maintenance operations for VMFA-112 at Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base (NAS JRB) Fort Worth, Texas .
This senior-level position performs and supervises aircraft maintenance while serving as both a Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI) and Quality Assurance Safety Observer (QASO) for F/A-18 aircraft across multiple variants . The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, ensure maintenance quality, enforce safety standards, and verify aircraft are returned to service in accordance with NAVAIR maintenance procedures, quality assurance requirements, and applicable technical publications.

Position SummaryThe Aircraft Mechanic III – CDI/QASO performs, supervises, and inspects scheduled and unscheduled organizational-level maintenance on F/A-18 aircraft while providing technical leadership to maintenance teams. This position ensures maintenance actions are completed safely, accurately, and in compliance with Navy maintenance standards by serving as the designated CDI and QASO for assigned maintenance operations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Lead and supervise scheduled and unscheduled organizational-level maintenance on F/A-18 aircraft across multiple variants.
- Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and oversight to Aircraft Mechanic I, II, and III personnel.
- Perform, supervise, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, modify, remove, install, and operationally test aircraft systems and components.
- Maintain and repair aircraft airframe, flight control, powerplant, hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, landing gear, mechanical systems, aircraft accessories, and associated support equipment.
- Conduct scheduled inspections, phase inspections, corrosion control, servicing, aircraft modifications, and operational checks in accordance with approved maintenance publications.
- Diagnose aircraft discrepancies using engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, Maintenance Requirement Cards (MRCs), Maintenance Instruction Manuals (MIMs), technical manuals, and other approved technical publications.
- Remove, replace, rig, align, adjust, and operationally test aircraft components following maintenance actions.
- Conduct operational and functional checks to verify aircraft serviceability and mission readiness.
- Utilize specialized aircraft maintenance tools, hydraulic test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, precision measuring instruments, and aircraft support equipment.
- Complete maintenance documentation, inspection records, discrepancy reports, maintenance action forms, and aircraft logbook entries accurately and in accordance with Navy maintenance documentation requirements.
- Coordinate maintenance activities with Production Control, Quality Assurance, engineering personnel, and Government representatives.
- Assist in training and developing junior maintenance personnel while promoting a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Perform required CDI inspections in accordance with NAVAIR maintenance instructions and approved technical publications.
- Verify maintenance tasks have been completed correctly before aircraft or equipment are returned to service.
- Inspect completed maintenance for workmanship, proper installation, torque application, safety wiring, hardware configuration, system rigging, and compliance with technical publications.
- Ensure maintenance actions comply with established Quality Assurance standards and maintenance procedures.
- Identify maintenance discrepancies and coordinate corrective actions prior to aircraft release.
- Review maintenance documentation for completeness, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
- Verify maintenance personnel utilize current technical publications and approved maintenance procedures.
- Document inspection results and certify completed inspections in accordance with Navy maintenance documentation requirements.
- Serve as the designated QASO during hazardous maintenance operations involving energized systems, fuel systems, hydraulic systems, aircraft movement, confined spaces, and other high-risk maintenance activities.
- Monitor maintenance operations to ensure compliance with safety procedures, technical directives, and organizational safety programs.
- Identify unsafe acts or hazardous conditions and immediately stop work when personnel or equipment safety is at risk.
- Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, and required hazard controls.
- Verify compliance with Foreign Object Damage (FOD) prevention, Tool Control Program (TCP), hazardous material handling, and aircraft safety requirements.
- Support Quality Assurance audits, inspections, and maintenance evaluations.
- Promote a strong safety culture through leadership, mentorship, procedural compliance, and continuous process improvement.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather and environmental conditions.
- Ability to climb ladders, aircraft stands, and maintenance platforms.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and around operating aircraft.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, crawl, and work overhead for extended periods.
- Ability to safely operate aircraft maintenance support equipment, hydraulic test equipment, diagnostic equipment, and precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of eight (8) years of aircraft maintenance experience, with significant experience supporting F/A-18 aircraft or other military tactical aircraft.
- Demonstrated experience performing aircraft inspections, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, modification, and operational testing.
- Thorough knowledge of F/A-18 aircraft systems, NAVAIR maintenance procedures, technical publications, and Quality Assurance requirements.
- Current or previous qualification as a Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI) and Quality Assurance Safety Observer (QASO) , or the ability to obtain and maintain both qualifications in accordance with contract requirements.
- Extensive knowledge of aircraft maintenance documentation, engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, blueprints, Maintenance Requirement Cards (MRCs), Maintenance Instruction Manuals (MIMs), and manufacturer technical publications.
- Proficiency troubleshooting and repairing aircraft airframe, flight control, powerplant, hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, landing gear, and mechanical systems.
- Experience utilizing aircraft maintenance support equipment, hydraulic test equipment, diagnostic equipment, cable tensiometers, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, and precision measuring instruments.

- Ability to work independently while managing multiple maintenance priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Ability to obtain and maintain all required installation access credentials.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous U.S. Navy or U.S. Marine Corps experience maintaining F/A-18A/B/C/D, F/A-18E/F, or EA-18G aircraft.
- Current or previous designation as a Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI) and Quality Assurance Safety Observer (QASO) .
- Experience supporting Organizational (O-Level), Intermediate (I-Level), or Depot (D-Level) aircraft maintenance.
- Previous experience leading aircraft maintenance teams in operational, expeditionary, or deployed environments.
- Experience supporting Foreign Military Sales (FMS), Contractor Logistics Support (CLS), NAVAIR, or U.S. Department of Defense aviation maintenance contracts.
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate.
- Active Secret Security Clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain one, if required by the contract.
