Senior Accountant - Healthcare

Posted Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at 5:00 AM *Healthcare Experience is Required Position Summary The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing general accounting operations and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting for a growing Home Health organization. This role requires a detail‑oriented finance professional with at least 3 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within healthcare or home health. The Senior Accountant will support month‑end close, reimbursement analysis, revenue recognition, and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities Lead and execute monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations Manage general ledger integrity and ensure compliance with GAAP Analyze revenue cycles, including Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care reimbursements Assist with cost reporting and regulatory filings specific to Home Health Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules Coordinate with external auditors and assist with annual audits Monitor internal controls and recommend process improvements Support multi‑entity or multi‑location financial reporting (if applicable) Perform quarterly reconciliation of form 941 to payroll journal entries to ensure accuracy Prepare and analyze ad hoc reports for senior management to support strategic planning and informed decision‑making Qualifications Required: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance Minimum 3+ years of progressive accounting experience Strong understanding of GAAP Experience with month‑end close and financial statement preparation Advanced Excel skills Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities Preferred: Experience in Home Health or healthcare accounting Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement models CPA or CPA‑track preferred Experience with healthcare accounting systems or ERP platforms Core Competencies High attention to detail and accuracy Ability to meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment Strong communication and cross‑functional collaboration skills Ability to handle confidential financial information Why Join Us Opportunity to support a mission‑driven Home Health organization Growing company with advancement potential Competitive compensation and benefits package #J-18808-Ljbffr Valence-Care
