Job Title: Industrial Maintenance Technician
Job Description
This role focuses on maintaining and repairing high-speed production equipment in a large, climate-controlled manufacturing facility. You will perform both mechanical and electrical maintenance, troubleshoot automation and control systems, and support overall facilities upkeep to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair high-speed production equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- Perform mechanical repairs including replacing mat top chain, linked chain with master links, laced belts, rubber bands for rollers, and other belt applications using appropriate specialty equipment and following equipment guidelines.
- Replace bearings, shafts, rollers, sprockets, gearboxes, and motors as needed to keep equipment running reliably.
- Drill, tap, and thread bolt holes properly and use concrete hammer drills with anchors to secure equipment and related structures.
- Use basic hand tools and battery-operated tools such as drills, grinders, reciprocating saws, impact guns, routers, wrenches, and screwdrivers to perform maintenance tasks.
- Apply grease and other lubricants correctly to lubrication points using proper tools and procedures.
- Change out V-belts for fans and work with pulley systems that support those fans.
- Service and repair dock plates, dock doors, and hydraulic cylinders associated with material handling and facility operations.
- Perform basic plumbing, painting, and general building repair work as part of facilities maintenance.
- Use tape measures accurately to take measurements for belt take-ups, equipment spacing, and identification of distances for equipment assets.
- Replace seals and gaskets properly to prevent leaks and ensure equipment integrity.
- Use torque wrenches to tighten bolts, screws, and other fasteners to specified torque values.
- Diagnose and repair issues involving pneumatics, hydraulics, gearboxes, conveyors, motors, and other rotary equipment.
- Perform electrical maintenance and troubleshooting on motors and drives, including both three-phase and single-phase systems.
- Work safely and confidently with 480V electrical systems while following applicable codes and standards.
- Read and interpret US electrical schematics to diagnose and resolve equipment and control issues.
- Use base PLC knowledge (inputs and outputs) to troubleshoot automation controls and electro-mechanical systems.
- Assist with testing or building control panels when needed and support improvements to automation systems.
- Troubleshoot PLCs online when required to identify faults and restore proper machine operation.
- Apply knowledge of instrumentation and controls, PLCs, and variable frequency drives (VFDs) in daily maintenance activities.
- Follow NFPA 70E and National Electrical Code guidelines when performing electrical work.
- Document training, maintenance activities, and repairs accurately and maintain records of certifications and technical education.
- Bring and maintain a personal set of tools, store them in the designated maintenance station, and use provided specialty and measurement tools appropriately.
- Work a rotating schedule including extended shifts and occasional additional days to meet production and maintenance needs.
- Collaborate with other technicians, mechanics, and operations staff to prioritize work orders and minimize equipment downtime.
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, including proper use of required PPE and safe work practices in a high-speed manufacturing environment.
Essential Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of industrial maintenance experience.
- High-speed manufacturing experience.
- Proven experience maintaining and repairing high-speed production equipment.
- Ability to replace mat top chain, linked chain with master links, laced belts, rubber bands for rollers, and belt applications using specialty equipment.
- Ability to replace bearings, shafts, rollers, sprockets, gearboxes, and motors.
- Proficiency in drilling, tapping, and threading bolt holes properly.
- Ability to use concrete hammer drills with anchors to secure equipment.
- Skilled in using basic hand tools and battery-operated tools such as drills, grinders, reciprocating saws, impact guns, routers, wrenches, and screwdrivers.
- Ability to apply grease and other lubricants correctly to lubrication points with appropriate tools.
- Ability to change V-belts for fans and work with associated pulley systems.
- Experience working on dock plates, dock doors, and hydraulic cylinders.
- Ability to perform basic plumbing, painting, and building repair work for facilities maintenance.

- Base PLC experience focusing on inputs and outputs.
- Experience troubleshooting PLCs and automation controls in a manufacturing environment.
- Understanding of instrumentation and controls, PLCs, and VFDs.
- Familiarity with NFPA 70E and the National Electrical Code.
- Documented training and experience in the electrical field, including training certificates or technical diplomas.
- High school diploma or proof of GED.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Associates degree in a technical field is preferred.
- Two-year technical degree is highly preferred.
- Licenses, certifications, or verifiable technical training are accepted in lieu of or in addition to formal degrees.
- Experience testing or building control panels is a plus.
- Experience troubleshooting PLCs online is a plus.
- Experience in electro-mechanical systems and manufacturing automation is beneficial.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and automation disciplines.
- Ability to work extended shifts and rotating schedules in a production environment.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills when working with maintenance and operations teams.

Work Environment
The position is based in a large, climate-controlled manufacturing facility that operates high-speed production equipment. The primary schedule follows a rotating pattern of 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, with an additional day worked during the short week every other week, averaging approximately 48 hours per week. Day shift is 12 hours (7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.), with initial training potentially on a Monday–Friday schedule from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Personal protective equipment is required, including steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, ear protection, and a company-provided uniform. Technicians must bring their own basic tools on the first day; a maintenance station is available for storing personal toolboxes, and all specialty and measurement tools are provided. The environment focuses on safety, adherence to electrical codes and NFPA 70E guidelines, and the use of modern automation, PLCs, and high-speed manufacturing technologies.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
