Global VAT Planning Associate Director

Responsibilities Lead and support global indirect tax planning initiatives to optimize global efficiency, mitigate risk and comply with regulations. Evaluate transactions, supply chains, and contracts to identify global indirect tax risks and opportunities. Provide clear, practical global indirect tax guidance to stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions. Support global indirect tax related aspects of business expansions, restructurings, and new product launches. Develop and maintain global indirect tax strategies aligned with business objectives. Monitor regulatory developments and recommend necessary planning actions. Enhance indirect tax controls, processes, and documentation to strengthen governance. Collaborate with external advisors for specialized jurisdictional guidance. Cultivate strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external advisors. Support indirect tax audits by preparing technical positions and managing discussions with tax authorities. Up to 25% travel required. Requirements Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years experience. Strong technical foundation in VAT/GST. Self-directed leader with strong analytical and communication skills. Ability to translate complex tax concepts to non-tax customers.
