Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical - Day Shift

Job Details Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Observation Unit FT Day Shift (Hours: 7a‑7p). Weekend & holidays per department’s guidelines. Location: Wilmington, DE. Responsibilities Provide direct patient care, administer medications, and evaluate patient conditions. Collaborate with healthcare team members; ensure patient safety and well‑being. Provide 24‑hour inpatient and observational care for adult and geriatric patients. Receive, admit, and transfer patients from the Emergency Department, Step‑Down Unit, ICU, and Direct Admissions. Care for patients with diagnoses including stroke, pneumonia, UTI, COPD, heart failure, cellulitis, substance use disorder, and psychiatric conditions. Work on a mixed‑acuity unit to achieve ACLS certification, learn from critical and emergent patient situations, and apply evidence‑based practices. Scope of Services The unit serves patients with fair, good, or guarded conditions, and supports a variety of diagnoses such as those listed above. Qualifications RN licensure or eligibility for licensure in Delaware. One year of RN experience; acute or sub‑acute care experience preferred. BLS required; ACLS preferable. BSN preferred or commitment to obtain a BSN within 3 years of hire. Compensation Hourly Pay Range: $41.28 – $66.05. Actual salary will depend on skills, experience, and qualifications.
