Emergency Room Technician I - Days/Evenings

Job Summary Geisinger offers an Emergency Room Technician I position at the Geisinger Wyoming Valley campus. The role is full‑time, six‑day week, 36 hours per week, days shift. The hiring rate starts at $15.76 per hour with additional shift differentials and a $1,500 sign‑on bonus. Candidates must meet the required educational and certification standards. Core Responsibilities Perform basic patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and maintain the unit environment in line with policies and procedures. Triage patient care by identifying, observing and documenting physical needs of patients and families; report changes in condition to RN. Assist with wound care, splinting, EKGs, blood glucose monitoring, urine, stool, sputum, and other laboratory testing. Transport patients to and from the department, pharmacy, Blood Bank, and other areas of the hospital; transport medications and blood products. Assist patients with daily activities such as undressing, dressing, lifting and positioning during procedures. Provide unit desk clerk functions when required and coordinate relations between care providers, patients, and visitors. Provide patient‑centered care in a caring and healing environment; promote teamwork and collaboration across the care team. Position Details Full‑time, 36 hours per week; 3–12 hour shifts 7:00am–7:30pm; every other weekend and holiday rotation required. High School Diploma or GED (required). Basic Life Support certification within 6 months of hire. Required skills: communication, organization, preceptor skills, teamwork.
