Together, we pursue a shared mission to create a more sustainable future.Operate or tend equipment to control chemical changes or reactions in the processing of industrial products. Clean and load Chemsure trailers in the Point of Feed (POF) room; stage materials for production areas; wash totes; receive materials; put materials into storage locations; consolidate inventory; and perform general housekeeping.Support all Environmental, Health, and Safety programs, policies, and regulationsMove control settings to make necessary adjustments on equipment units affecting speeds of chemical reactions, quality, and yieldsMonitor recording instruments, flow meters, panel lights, and other indicators, and listen for warning signals, to verify conformity of process conditionsControl or operate chemical processes or systems of machines, using panel boards, control boards, or semi-automatic equipmentRecord operating data such as process conditions, test results, and instrument readingsConfer with technical and supervisory personnel to report or resolve conditions affecting safety, efficiency, and product qualityDraw samples of products and conduct quality control tests to monitor processing and to ensure that standards are metRegulate or shut down equipment during emergencies, as directed by supervisory personnelStart pumps to wash and rinse reactor vessels, to exhaust gases and vapors, to regulate the flow of oil, steam, air, and to add products to blending vesselsInterpret chemical reactions visible through sight glasses or on television monitors, and review laboratory test reports for process adjustmentsPatrol work areas to ensure that solutions in tanks and troughs are not in danger of overflowingNotify maintenance and other auxiliary personnel to correct equipment malfunctions and to adjust power, steam, water, or air suppliesTurn valves to regulate flow of products or byproducts through agitator tanks, storage drums, or neutralizer tanksCalculate material requirements or yields according to formulasGauge tank levels using calibrated rodsDefrost frozen valves using steam hosesTeam player, individual thinker; Customer-focused; positive attitude; Attention to detailWorking knowledge of SAP; Excellent communication and documentation skills; Strong math skills; Strong computer skills, including GoogleHigh school diploma or GED; Minimum of six (6) months' experience working in a chemical manufacturing environment with hazardous materials; Minimum of 2 years' related batch chemical blending/formulation experience with hazardous materials; Minimum of 1 year of analytical testing experience; Experience driving a forkliftAssociate degree from an accredited university, college, or technical schoolAbility to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (Safety Boots, Safety Clothing, Safety Helmet, Safety Goggle/Glasses, Respirator, Gloves)At Veolia, we realize diverse teams make smarter decisions, deliver better results, and build stronger communities.
