Overhead Crane and Hoist Technician

We are seeking a skilled Overhead Crane and Hoist Technician to perform routine and periodic inspections on overhead cranes, hoists, rigging, and related lifting equipment. The successful candidate will identify wear, safety issues, and potential failures, recommending corrective actions, and conduct preventive maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimize downtime.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and periodic inspections on overhead cranes, hoists, rigging, and related lifting equipment.
• Identify wear, safety issues, and potential failures; recommend corrective actions.
• Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimize downtime.
• Accurately document inspections, findings, and repairs per company and regulatory standards.
• Install, assemble, and commission overhead cranes, hoists, trolleys, control systems, and auxiliary equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and structural components, including motors, brakes, gearboxes, bearings, and wire rope.
• Troubleshoot complex issues and perform emergency breakdown repairs when required.

Essential Skills

• Troubleshooting and repair skills in electrical, mechanical, and maintenance fields.
• Experience with crane inspection, crane service, and field service.
• 2-3 years of industrial service technician experience or maintenance.
• Good understanding of electrical theory for power and controls.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems.
• Understanding of OSHA standards.
• Proficient computer skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Proficient in diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical systems.
• Experience with installing and commissioning cranes and hoists.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and perform emergency repairs.

Work Environment

• The work schedule is from 7:00am to 4:00pm, Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime required. Be prepared for travel, as most jobs are at client sites. The role involves walking, standing, sitting, bending, driving, reading, and communicating in various environments and working conditions.

Job Type & Location: This is a Permanent position based out of Indianapolis, IN.

Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $72800.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
