• Weekly Estimated Pay: $10,550 – $11,300 (competitive locum tenens pay)
• Location: Eureka, CA 95501 — Northern California; California neurosurgery jobs; Eureka, CA neurosurgeon opening
• Setting: Inpatient and Outpatient (clinic and call)
• Schedule: Weekdays 8:30am–5:00pm (clinic and day call); Night call 5:00pm–8:30am; 24-hour weekend call coverage
• Assignment Dates: November 1, 2026 – November 2, 2026 (additional coverage: Nov 21–Dec 8 and Dec 27–Jan 5)
• Guaranteed Hours per Day: 8
• Patient Encounters Per Shift: Approximately 5
• Trauma Level: Level 3 (trauma neurosurgeon experience preferred)

Required Qualifications — Neurosurgeon

• Active Physician License (California or IMLC eligible)
• Board Certified in Neurosurgery, or Board Eligible within 3–5 years of residency
• FLURO certification (temporary FLURO accepted)
• DEA license required
• Minimum 2 years of recent hospital clinical activity in neurosurgery (at least 1 year required overall)
• Ability to provide 100 case logs within the past 24 months specific to requested privileges
• Updated CV with all hospital affiliations
• Fellowship training preferred
• Gaps greater than 3 months in clinical activity must be explained

Core Responsibilities — Neurosurgery Physician / Locum Tenens

• Provide comprehensive neurosurgical care to adult patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings
• Cover clinic shifts and be available for scheduled day and night call
• Manage trauma cases consistent with a Level 3 trauma center
• Perform general neurosurgery procedures and complex spine surgeries (cervical, thoracic, lumbar) with and without instrumentation
• Place ICP monitors and apply external traction as indicated
• Preferred experience with tumor cases and VP shunt procedures
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (neurocritical care, trauma, anesthesia, OR staff) to ensure high-quality patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of all patient encounters and operative reports
