Desired Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid state Special Education teaching certification (or eligibility to obtain).
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or related field.
• Previous experience working with high school students with diverse learning needs is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of best practices in special education, including IEP development and implementation.
• Effective communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.
• Ability to adapt lessons and strategies to meet the needs of each student.
• Commitment to inclusion and advocacy for students with disabilities.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction to high school students based on Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to support student progress.
• Assess, track, and report student achievement, adapting instruction as needed.
• Develop and maintain accurate and thorough documentation for compliance.
• Attend and contribute to IEP meetings and professional development activities.
• Foster a safe, respectful, and positive classroom atmosphere where each student can thrive.
