Desired Qualifications:

• Active Special Education teaching licensure/certification in Iowa (or eligibility for Iowa certification)
• Prior experience working with high school-aged students in a special education role
• Strong ability to create, adapt, and deliver individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to fostering a positive and engaging learning environment for diverse learners

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement lesson plans that address the individual needs and abilities of students with varying exceptionalities
• Manage a high school caseload while maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with state and federal guidelines
• Collaborate effectively with general education teachers, administrators, and support staff to support student success
• Engage families and caregivers in student progress, providing regular updates and participating in IEP meetings
• Utilize creative strategies, interventions, and accommodations to motivate students and facilitate learning both academically and socially
