Job Title: Production Machine Operator

Job Description

This role supports a team-focused manufacturing operation that produces steel components for major commercial and industrial construction projects. You will work directly with steel materials, operate production machinery, and assist with general production tasks in a fast-paced environment. Entry-level and experienced candidates are welcome, and comprehensive training is provided for those new to manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Cut, prepare, and process steel materials for construction products.

• Operate production equipment such as:

• Shears

• Presses

• Saws

• Perform basic assembly and fabrication work.

• Use hand tools and power tools safely.

• Measure materials using tape measures and other measuring tools.

• Inspect products for quality and accuracy.

• Assist with packing, material handling, and staging products.

• Rotate between different workstations as needed.

• Support yard work, cleanup, and general labor tasks.

• Work with team members to meet production goals.

• Maintain a clean and safe work area.

• Follow all company safety procedures.

Required Skills & Experience

• Manufacturing, production, construction, or general labor experience preferred.

• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including standing, lifting, and moving materials.

• Ability to operate or learn production equipment.

• Experience using hand tools and power tools.

• Basic mechanical aptitude.

• Ability to read a tape measure accurately.

• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.

• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.

• Available for overtime, extended shifts, and occasional Saturdays.

Preferred Qualifications

• Machine operating experience.

• Construction, framing, carpentry, or fabrication experience.

• General labor and material handling experience.

• Experience with assembly and packing tasks.

• Familiarity with steel manufacturing environments.

• Experience working in non-climate-controlled facilities.

• Strong attention to detail and quality.

• Non-climate-controlled manufacturing facility.

Schedule

• Training on 1st Shift for 1-4 weeks.

• Typical 2nd Shift :

• Monday-Thursday: 4:00 PM - 12:30 AM

• Friday: 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM

• Overtime may extend shifts up to 10 hours.

• Occasional Saturday work required.

• Shift differential available for off-shift employees.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Washington, MO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $32.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
