Department Manager

This job posting is for a position in a restaurant owned and operated by an independent franchisee and not McDonald’s USA. The franchisee is the employer and is responsible for all employment matters, including hiring, firing, discipline, supervision, staffing, and scheduling. McDonald’s USA has no control over employment decisions for this restaurant. Responsibilities Lead shifts every week, ensuring fast, accurate, friendly service for all customers. Manage assigned systems such as Training, Food Safety, and Inventory Management—set goals, delegate tasks, follow up, and report results. Oversee Guest Service Department: ensure crew and managers deliver a great customer experience, execute sales promotions, train staff in service procedures, and maintain organization of the Front Counter McCafé and Drive‑Thru areas. Supervise Kitchen Department: deliver high‑quality, safe food quickly; control food costs; train kitchen staff on production procedures and new menu items. Manage People Department: hire qualified crew, provide training, schedule staff to meet sales and profit goals, and motivate employees throughout their tenure. Qualifications Previous managerial experience preferred, ideally in a restaurant, retail, or hospitality environment. Positive team player with flexible schedule and enjoyment of a fast‑paced environment. Must be 18 years or older to qualify as a manager in corporate‑owned restaurants.
