As Chief Estimator, you will be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of all estimation activities. Oversee and manage the entire estimating process for all projects from conception to closeout. 2. Prepare detailed and comprehensive cost estimates, budgets, and work timetables. 3. Interpret and review system drawings to identify any potential cost issues and to provide the most cost-effective solutions. 4. Interface with clients, vendors, and various project stakeholders on an ongoing basis to ensure the project estimates are accurate and comprehensive. 5. Analyze and evaluate bidding risks and strategies; present estimate and related information to project teams and clients as needed. 6. Lead the training and development of the estimating team to ensure continuous improvement and operational excellence. 7. Collaborate with the project management team to follow up on bids and budgets to close the business. 8. Stay updated with the latest estimating technology and industry best practices. Qualifications: The ideal candidate for the Permanent Chief Estimator position will possess the following: 1. A minimum of 10 years of experience in estimating with at least 5 years in a leadership role. 2. A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. 3. Proven experience in construction management and a strong understanding of the engineering industry. 4. Exceptional skills in project management and team leadership. 5. Proficient in using estimating software and other related computer software. 6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. 7. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to effectively present information to clients and project teams. 8. A keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality work. 9. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to handle complex pricing negotiations with vendors and suppliers.
