Radiology Associate

Radiology Clerk Under the direction of the radiology administrator or designee, is responsible for communication, registration and scheduling for various radiology procedures. To perform all phases of clerical duties to include receiving and logging of patients information, scheduling, filing typing, transport, answering phones, and assisting as back-up as needed in the radiology department. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Includes the Following: Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors Abides by scheduling policy Notifies floors or radiology staff if any planned schedule change Will be required to work in case of emergencies or when situations arise in the department. Holiday, overtime and / or day, evening shift coverage to help maintain adequate and safe coverage for the department Maintains the cleanliness of all work areas, equipment and accessories. Reports all malfunctioning equipment to Bio Med or supervisor. Prints CD's if needed Performs routine office duties, such as answering phones, documents information on patients' request, Meditec or hospital Ris system's and PAC's digital x-ray system Notifies transport when patients are ready to be picked up or returned to floors May be assigned as an instructor or preceptor Should be knowledgeable and skillful in providing care, based on age, physical and psychosocial stature of patient populations; neonate/newborn, pediatric/adolescent, adults and geriatric groups Performs other related duties as required, attends staff meetings and in-services Duties and hours may change according to the needs of the department or hospital Prioritizes and organizes own work load and routine administrative matters to assure completion of tasks within the time frame designated Coordinates follow up of all customer service and satisfaction matters as directed Informs supervisor if office or clinical supplies are needed Education & Experience Requirements: High school Diploma/GED required. Have general knowledge of typing, computer skills, and knowledge of medical terminology. Recommended: being a highly motivated, positive person with strong communication and organizational skills. Any hazardous chemicals the employee may be exposed to are listed in the hospital's SDS (Safety Data Sheet) data base and accessed through the hospital's Intranet site (Employee Tools/SDS Access). A copy of the SDS data base can also be found at the hospital switchboard, saved on a disc.
