Server Job Description The role of a server is incredibly diverse, demanding individuals who are full of energy, capable of working with a sense of urgency, and possess a genuine desire to care for others. Serving is not a profession for the faint-hearted, as no two days in the life of a server ever look the same. It is an ever-changing and dynamic job that requires adaptability and a constant willingness to go the extra mile. Server Responsibilities Coordinate with the kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate delivery of orders Deliver checks and collect payments Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area Handle customer complaints or concerns in a professional manner Build and maintain rapport with customers to ensure a positive dining experience Upsell additional food and beverage items Collaborate with other servers and staff to provide excellent customer service Follow all safety and health regulations Participate in training and development opportunities to constantly improve skills and knowledge of the menu and restaurant Adhere to restaurant policies and procedures Successful bartenders should possess excellent customer service skills, strong multitasking abilities, and the ability to work well under pressure. They should have a thorough knowledge of different cocktails and spirits, as well as the ability to create unique and innovative drinks. Bartenders must also have a good understanding of basic math and be able to handle cash transactions accurately. Previous experience working in a similar role is typically required.
