Senior Project Manager

Location: On Site - Charlotte, North Carolina About the Construction Company / The Opportunity: Join a well-established construction contractor investing in its growth across Charlotte and the wider Carolinas. As Senior Project Manager, you will take ownership of complex ground-up commercial projects from preconstruction through closeout, with the autonomy and executive support to deliver successful outcomes. This opportunity offers a clear path toward an Operations Executive role, alongside the chance to mentor and develop the next generation of project leaders. Responsibilities: Lead ground-up commercial construction projects valued at $20 million to $50 million or more from preconstruction through closeout. Oversee project buyout, cost control, scheduling, quality, and overall execution. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, owners, architects, and engineers. Manage subcontractors and project teams to meet project requirements and resolve challenges. Provide financial oversight and keep projects aligned with budget and schedule expectations. Lead, mentor, and develop Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and Project Engineers. Collaborate with executive leadership and project teams to support continued growth in the Charlotte market. Must-Have Skills: Experience leading ground-up commercial projects valued at $20 million to $50 million or more. Project experience in sectors such as K-12 or higher education, healthcare, municipal, office or commercial, or industrial construction. End-to-end project lifecycle expertise, including preconstruction, buyout, cost control, scheduling, subcontractor management, and closeout. Experience managing owner and architect/engineer relationships and serving as a client liaison. Proven leadership skills, including financial oversight, large-team management, and mentoring project professionals. Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, and MS Project or P6. Based in the Charlotte area and willing to work on-site at project locations and in the office. Nice-to-Have Skills: Experience across multiple commercial sectors, including retail, K-12, healthcare, office space, and industrial projects. Readiness to step up from a commercial Project Manager role into senior project leadership.
