Peoples Gas Light & Coke Co, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Associate Project Controls Analyst in our Chicago, Illinois location. This position offers flexibility for a hybrid work arrangement (remote/on-site) with time spent in the Chicago office.

Job Summary

The Project Controls Analyst is responsible for supporting cost of limited scope and complexity on a variety of projects and provides cross-departmental support. Assignments will include preparing cost reports, cost variance analysis, and preparing ad-hoc reporting.

Job Responsibilities

The Project Controls Cost Analyst is responsible for providing financial oversight, cost tracking, and analysis to support the successful delivery of capital projects. This role ensures that project budgets, forecasts, and expenditures are accurately maintained and reported, supporting effective decision-making and compliance with Company governance and financial controls. The Cost Analyst collaborates closely with Project Managers, Construction Managers, Finance, and Supply Chain to maintain financial integrity throughout the project lifecycle. The position plays a key role in monitoring performance, managing cost risks, performing cost variance analysis, and ensuring alignment between project execution and program-level financial objectives.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, or Construction Management

• Associate Project Controls Analyst: 0-2 yrs. relevant project controls experience (internship/co-op experience may be included as relevant project controls experience).

• Project Controls Analyst:

• 2+ years relevant project controls experience

• 2+ years’ Experience with various computer software, specifically Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat. Preferred experience with PowerPlan, PeopleSoft, SAP, Primavera P6, and/or Microsoft Access

• 2+ years of demonstrated leadership experience by leading projects and/or teams

• Senior Project Controls Analyst:

• 5+ years relevant project controls experience

• 5+ years’ Experience with various computer software, specifically Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat. Preferred experience with PowerPlan, PeopleSoft, SAP, Primavera P6, and/or Microsoft Access

• 5+ years of demonstrated leadership experience by leading projects and teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong understanding of cost control principles, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis

• Familiarity with PMO governance and earned value management

• Proficient in cost management systems (SAP, SAP Business Warehouse, Maximo) Estimating Tool) and scheduling tools (Primavera P6)

• Skilled in financial reporting and risk identification

• Effective communicator with technical teams, executives, and regulators

• Stakeholder Satisfaction: Positive feedback from Project Managers, Finance, and leadership

Pay Range Minimum: $68,436.68

Pay Range Maximum: $135,761.08

The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs. At WEC Energy Group, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
