Job Description:

The Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Registered Nurse is responsible for providing care to patients immediately after cardiac surgery, managing post-operative recovery and ensuring strict adherence to patient ratios and unit protocols.

Responsibilities:

Provide primary recovery care for fresh cardiac surgery patients.
Manage patient ratios of 1:1 for immediate post-surgical care and 1:2 for POD 1-3 patients.
Adhere to unit-specific guidelines, staffing, and floating policies.
Utilize Meditech Expanse documentation system.

Requirements:

1-2 years of experience with fresh cardiac surgery patients in direct primary recovery.
Certification in ACLS.
Advanced skills in balloon pump, impella training, and hemosphere/acumen.
