With the latest technology and a team of skilled healthcare professionals, we are committed to bringing the highest level of expert and compassionate care to the communities we serve.Responsibilities:Delivers patient care requiring advanced skills and judgment in the Emergency Department, Critical Care or Respiratory Department settings as directed by the appropriate Medical Director for specialty to include protocol orders or guidelines within approved current Paramedic competency.Communicates appropriate information regarding the patient's condition to the Registered Nurse, Respiratory Therapist, and ED or Critical Care, Pulmonary providers or their designee and documents findings of care provided according to established guidelines.Provides for the physical comfort and safety of patients, visitors, and members of the health care team including infection control and appropriate handling of hazardous materials.Prioritizes and sequences work activities and delivery of medical care to patients that ensures the patient's comfort, safety, and progress toward established goals.Administers limited medications safely within the defined education guidelines and competencies.Facilitates patient movement within the department and through the facility, proactively supporting timely admissions, discharges, and transfers.Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.Ensures the customer experience is exceptional.Demonstrates The Orlando Health Way: Assure, Engage, Unite.Participates in maintaining the department to be clean, safe, organized and stocked.Demonstrates awareness of patient's rights and legal issues.Complies with all standards as required by regulatory and accreditation agencies.Performs all other duties as assigned.The Paramedic must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients.Qualifications:Successfully completed a Paramedic program.Current certification as a Paramedic (PMD) in the State of Florida renewed every 2 years.Maintains current BLS/Healthcare provider certification for healthcare providers.Maintains current ACLS certification.If appropriate, obtain and maintain PALS certification within one year of hire.
