Travel RN - Telemetry - Progressive Care UnitAmerican TravelerSpokane Valley, Washington, United StatesAssignment type: travelShift: NightsLength (weeks): 13Openings: 1$2,492.00/week (estimated advertised weekly pay)DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care/Telemetry float pool position requiring at least 1 year of tele or PCU experience and cardiac rhythm interpretation competency.DetailsSystem Float Pool position at a Level III Trauma Center community hospitalFloats between Med/Surg (3rd Floor), Acute Respiratory Floor (2nd Floor), ED/MS Overflow (1st Floor), and Progressive Care UnitProgressive Care beds are located within the Critical Care Unit, caring for PCU-level patients only (no ICU, cath lab, major cardiac/neuro surgery, or major trauma patients)Patient ratios: 1:5 on MedSurg, 1:3 on PCU with no CNA support12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per weekShift times are 0700-1930 and 1900-0730Every other weekend rotation requiredNo regular on-call, though low census situations may occurUses EPIC EMR, ICU Plum Medical IV pumps, and Pyxis medication dispensingRequirementsActive WA or compact RN license requiredBLS and ACLS certification requiredMinimum 1 year of true Telemetry or PCU experience requiredMust pass a cardiac rhythm interpretation exam during the compliance process prior to startSkills required include high flow O2, chest tubes, peripheral IV starts/maintenance, wound care/dressing changes, wound vac management, drain management (JP, hemovac), nephrostomy tube care, pain management, PCA, central line management, and cardiac rhythm interpretationExperience managing cardiac drips (Heparin, amiodarone, Cardizem, nitro) requiredAdditional InformationCare for medical and surgical patients with diagnoses including COPD, CHF, sepsis, AKI/CKD, DVT, PE, cellulitis, pancreatitis, and ETOH-related conditionsSupport surgical/ortho patients including total joints, GI, GU, GYN, podiatry, and ENT proceduresRespiratory floor patients may require high flow and BiPap supportProgressive Care patients include Afib with RVR requiring q4h checks24/7 support available from phlebotomy, respiratory therapy, hospitalists, and rapid response/code team, plus centralized tele monitoring with techsOT, PT, and SLP support available during day shiftsCharge RN may carry a partial patient assignment but remains available as a resourceOrientation includes 1 day of classroom training with skills check-off, followed by 12 hours on-unit orientation split across three unitsShift safety huddle held at the start of every shiftScrubs must be a solid professional color with no graphics, logos, or designsFree parking available in a designated areaHoliday coverage of 1 holiday per contract requiredUp to 5 days of RTO can be approvedFirst-time travelers are welcome to applyTravelers often enjoy the unit culture and have extended contracts, with some staff having started as travelers
