This role requires strong negotiation, relationship management, and analytical skills to balance service quality with cost control. The Carrier Sales Representative I demonstrates sound decision-making, problem-solving, and ethical conduct while actively contributing to business growth through carrier engagement, promotional initiatives, and consistent delivery of exceptional customer service.**Key Responsibilities:*** Develop and cultivate fruitful relationships with carriers to foster a valuable partnership.* Proactively identify potential new carriers and establish lasting, professional relationships to expand the company's logistic network.* Use exceptional negotiation skills to secure cost-effective, high-quality transportation solutions for clients.* Monitor all load transportation from dispatch to delivery ensuring timely and safe delivery.* Collaborate and communicate effectively with Account Managers to ensure seamless cargo movements and coordinate problem-solving activities.* Uphold the company's ethical standards, instilling honesty, integrity, and trustworthiness in every transaction and interaction.* Tactfully leverage company events, promotions, and other resources to enhance customer relationships and business opportunities.* Continuously improve professional competencies, striving for advancement to a higher tier position within the company.**Direct Manager/Direct Reports Structure:*** The Carrier Sales Representative I at BSL is a crucial team member, playing a pivotal role in managing and enhancing our carrier relationships.* This position reports directly to the Carrier Operations Manager.* It is inherent in the position that as a Carrier Sales Representative, your responsibilities will include building relationships with carriers and managing the transportation of goods, among other critical tasks.* Direct management and supervision will be provided by the Carrier Operations Manager. This position is an individual contributor role; therefore, there are no direct reports under the Carrier Sales Representative I.* The structure allows the representative to focus on their significant responsibilities and contribute effectively to the team, thereby advancing the key objectives of the SRS Heritage Group within BSL.**Travel Requirements:*** The Carrier Sales Representative I position at SRS Heritage Group within Builders Supply Logistics (BSL) does not require routine travel; however, occasional travel may be necessary to attend company events and promotions designed to enhance customer relationships.**Physical Requirements:*** In compliance with the American Disabilities Act (ADA), the physical requirements for the Carrier Sales Representative I position with SRS Heritage Group generally reflect conventional office-based physical expectations.* Duties are primarily performed in an office environment and may require prolonged periods of sitting at a desk or workstation, using standard office equipment like computers, telephones, and photocopiers on a regular basis.* The role also requires manual dexterity for typing and the use of a mouse, clear verbal communication in person and over the phone, ability to read papers and online materials, and occasional lifting of office supplies up to 20 lbs.* Reasonable accommodations will be considered for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this job.
