Automotive Technician

This position is primarily responsible to diagnose and service a broad range of vehicle repair issues ensuring proper performance and safety. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair automotive systems including, but not limited to, brakes and hydraulic, fuel ignition, electrical, suspension, HVAC, and computer systems
• Adequately explain diagnosis discovered during inspection to non-mechanical individuals
• Record inspection findings so that costs are accurately estimated
• Assist other technicians in performing technical activities
• Continuously learn new technical information, equipment, tools, and repair techniques through paid formal training
• Maintains a clean and organized repair facility
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to complete each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education and/or Experience:

• 3+ years' experience as an automotive technician in a professional setting
• A clean, valid California driver's license
• Vocational or technical school training is preferred

Other Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical problems with or without general supervision
• Excellent judgement and discretion; ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously, meet deadlines, and ability to handle work-related stress are required
• Team player with a "can do" attitude that can work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to establish and maintain professional atmosphere for employees and customers

Physical Demands: The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
