Position Overview

The Manager of Special Accounts reports to the Controller of Business Affairs and is primarily responsible for analyzing, reviewing, and completing mandated reports of the demographics, performance and financial nature of the college.


What you will be doing

• Assists with the management and accounting functions, maintains accounts, monitors budgets, reconciles expenditures, and prepares appropriate reports for Federal, State, Local and Private organizations
• Completes all Sections of the Fiscal Operating Report (FISAP)
• Manages all aspects of the 1098-T and 1042-S processes
• Computes Annual Depreciation schedules of noncurrent assets
• Assists with Annual Financial Aid Reports and produces schedules 3, 4, & 5
• Completes the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data Survey (IPEDS)
• Oversees Financial Aid Fee Report
• Maintains College Board Survey and Peterson Survey
• Assists Controller monitoring and completing Hurricane and other grants
• Coordinates non-recurrent tasks to obtain information via programming requests
• Performs other duties as assigned

What you need to succeed

• Master's degree in Accounting or Business Administration and two (2) years of related experience; or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration and six (6) years of related experience
• Knowledge and understanding of college organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures
• Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of accounting and the ability to apply this knowledge to work situations
• Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities
• Skill and ability to supervise staff
• Possess strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Possess excellent Microsoft Office applications and computer software skills applicable to department
• Ability to prepare accurate accounting entries and financial reports
• Ability to supervise and coordinate the work of a moderately sized clerical staff
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the employees and the general public
• Ability to communicate clearly, effectively and professionally through oral and written Communications
• Ability to work flexible schedule that may include evening and/or weekend assignments
• Ability to work well with students, faculty, and staff
