Job Title: BookkeeperJob Description The Bookkeeper will be responsible for invoicing, billing, and providing day-to-day accounting support. This position plays a key role in maintaining smooth operations and ensuring customers receive accurate and timely invoices. Responsibilities + Process and manage customer invoices. + Review billing for accuracy and resolve discrepancies. + Track payments and assist with collections follow up. + Maintain accounting records and perform data entry. + Assist with account reconciliations. + Support ownership and office staff with administrative and accounting tasks. Essential Skills + Previous bookkeeping, invoicing, or accounting experience preferred. + Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. + Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel. + Positive attitude and willingness to help wherever needed. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience in a family business setting is beneficial. + Dependability and team-oriented nature. + Personable demeanor with a focus on building relationships. Work Environment This is a very flexible work environment where the office consists of a small, close-knit team. Typically, the office opens early in the morning, and family members manage the day-to-day operations. The founder, who is over 80 years old, remains actively involved. The company values a family-focused atmosphere where everyone knows each other. The dress code is casual, reflecting the relaxed and supportive environment. The role requires physical presence in the office. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lansing, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
