Payload Operator

Description Leidos is looking for a Payload Operator who currently possesses a TS/SCI and can obtain Polygraph clearance. Candidates without a TS/SCI will not be considered. This is a hands‑on, direct command and control of a high‑priority intelligence collection sensor. The candidate will serve as the team’s collection sensor expert and work within a collaborative intelligence collection operations cell. The role involves designing and implementing collection missions against high‑priority intelligence targets, verifying and transmitting all system commands to the operational payload, and understanding how specific commanding actions affect mission objectives. Experience A BS and approximately 8 years of SIGINT/geolocation operations experience with 4 years of specific sensor operations supporting an intelligence collection management mission area. Desired Experience Approximately 6 years of direct payload operations experience with 4‑7 years supporting a legacy intelligence collection sensor. Education Formal training in advanced signal analysis or processing or related technical field. Desired Education Bachelor’s degree in a technical field emphasizing advanced signal analysis or processing. Skills Proficient in command and control procedures via remote links, and in the end‑to‑end intelligence collection mission planning and execution cycle. Ability to maintain broad, up‑to‑date situational awareness of current mission operations; quickly gain understanding of target environments and dynamics; familiarity with intelligence collection methods and infrastructure. Ability to identify and characterize previously unidentified intelligence problems and configure and operate the collection sensor to collect against the new problems. Extensive knowledge of known and emerging land‑based, airborne, and shipborne signal emitters. Security Clearance TS/SCI with polygraph required. Must currently hold TS/SCI and be able to obtain polygraph clearance. Location & Work Requirements Location: Northern VA area. Travel: Required. Shift: Non‑standard shift work required; willingness and ability to obtain TS/SCI and polygraph necessary.
