2026-2027 Daily Building Substitute - Full Time with Benefits JobID: 510 Position Type: Substitute/ Daily Building Substitute Date Posted: 8/4/2026 Location: Park Hill South High School Date Available: 08/19/2026 POSITION TITLE: Daily Buiding Substitute at Park Hill South High School, full time with benefits PURPOSE: A daily building substitute is responsible for providing instruction, managing the classroom environment, and promoting student learning in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. SALARY: $28.48 per hour REPORTS TO: Building Principal andthe Substitute Coordinator TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: A daily building substitute must be available for work each and every school day at assigned location. The building substitute must be available for assignment in any grade level, subject or position and be willing to be re-assigned to additional locations when not needed at permanent location.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Teaches scheduled classes. Prepares a written summary of workcompleted. Assumes all duties and responsibilities of the absentteacher. Follows the teacher's written lesson plans. Consults with the principal and/or staffto resolve questions and/or concerns. Complies with all building procedures and schedules. Promotes the proper use andcare of schoolproperty. Makes the absent teacher aware of special situations or problemsencountered.Upholds board policies and follows administrativeprocedures. Implements effective pupil management procedures. Maintains high standards and upholds the student conduct code. Intervenes and/or reports concerns to anadministrator. Develops and maintains a positive learningenvironment. Works cooperatively with staff andstudents. Incorporates the effective use of availabletechnology. Upholds computer technology acceptable usepolicies. Respects personal privacy. Maintains the confidentiality of privilegedinformation. Takes precautions to ensure staff/student safety. Does not leave studentsunsupervised. Supervises non-classroom duties whenassigned. Accepts personal responsibility for decisions andconduct. Performs other specific job-related duties asdirected.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidate must hold a current Missouri Teaching certificate or valid Substitute certificate. Candidate must be at least 18 years ofage. Ability to follow both oral and written directions andinstructions. Ability to communicate in both oral and writtenmeans. Ability to utilize a wide array of instructional technology and computer applications. Ability to effectively present information and respond to students, parents, andstaff. Ability to handle stressfulsituations. Ability to maintain confidentiality of studentmatters. Ability to effectively manage time andresponsibilities. Ability to be professional in appearance, attitude, anddemeanor.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works inside. The employee is directly responsible for the safety, well-being, and work output of students. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, depending on the nature of the assigned course.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; occasionally walk and stand. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is required to be able to hear conversations in quiet environments.
