Our MEP group in the Hartford, CT office is looking for a mechanical engineering intern, with an interest in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) fields, to work on various projects. This position will afford the successful student an opportunity to explore a wide variety of MEP work. Candidates with a strong desire to work in a dynamic consulting environment are encouraged to submit their resume. Our internship program is a 12-week paid summer program. We offer in-depth work experience on real client projects in a supportive and collaborative environment. The position is full-time Monday through Friday. This is a hybrid role , offering the best of both worlds-collaborate in-office with a high-performing team and enjoy the flexibility of working remotely part of the week. Key Responsibilities Project Variety: Work on diverse projects, including commercial building HVAC design. Technical Calculations: Perform pressure drop calculations, duct sizing, and pipe sizing. Field Surveys: Conduct field survey work to gather necessary data for design projects. Collaborative Environment: Work alongside a skilled team of engineers and technicians. Hands-On Design Experience: Engage in hands-on design of HVAC systems. AutoCAD Proficiency: Prepare equipment layouts and designs using AutoCAD. Cost Estimation: Participate in cost estimating for various mechanical systems. Construction Administration: Assist in construction administration tasks, ensuring proper implementation of designs. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering 3.0 GPA or higher Proficiency with MS Office programs Class project work related to MEP fields preferred Experience with AutoCAD preferred Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. of equipment Why You'll Love Working with Us Schedule Flexibility: Customize your work schedule to fit your life. This range reflects the company's good faith estimate of the compensation for this position at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, internal equity, and geographic location. Visa sponsorship is NOT available for this position.
