Senior Auditor

Working Arrangement: On-site / Hybrid opportunities available Employment Type: Full-time About the Opportunity AJ Chambers is working with a number of CPA and public accounting firms across Texas that are looking to connect with experienced Audit professionals at the Senior level. We are interested in speaking with Audit Seniors who may be actively considering a move, as well as those who are simply interested in understanding what opportunities are available across the Texas market. Opportunities can vary considerably depending on the firm, from established regional and national practices through to growing independent CPA firms. Positions may offer exposure to a range of industries, greater responsibility across engagements, direct client interaction, team leadership and clear progression opportunities. Typical Responsibilities Depending on the firm and position, responsibilities may include: Leading and executing audit engagements from planning through completion. Performing and reviewing substantive testing, risk assessments and audit workpapers. Preparing and reviewing financial statements and related disclosures. Identifying audit and accounting issues and working with Managers and Partners to resolve them. Acting as a key point of contact for clients throughout engagements. Reviewing work completed by Associates and junior team members. Coaching, mentoring and supporting the development of junior staff. Managing multiple engagements, priorities and deadlines. Ensuring work is completed in accordance with applicable professional standards. Developing strong relationships with clients and identifying opportunities to add value. We would be interested in speaking with professionals who have: Approximately 2+ years of external audit experience , ideally within a CPA or public accounting firm. Experience working across multiple audit engagements and client relationships. Strong understanding of US GAAP and GAAS . Experience preparing and/or reviewing audit workpapers. Strong communication, organization and client-facing skills. The ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines. Previous experience supervising or mentoring junior staff is advantageous. A CPA license, CPA eligibility or progress toward the CPA is preferred but not necessarily required for every opportunity. Experience with PCAOB audits, SEC reporting, SOX, public companies, private companies, nonprofit, governmental or industry-specific engagements may also be relevant depending on the opportunity. Locations We work with CPA firms throughout Texas, with opportunities regularly arising across: Houston | Dallas - Fort Worth | Austin | San Antonio | The Woodlands | Fort Worth | Plano | Frisco | Other Texas locations Hybrid and flexible working arrangements may be available depending on the firm.
