Registered Nurse - Cardiac Telemetry Med-Surg

A leading acute care medical and surgical hospital in Gainesville is seeking a Registered Nurse to join its Cardiac Telemetry Med-Surg team. This 523-bed facility is recognized for clinical excellence, holding certifications and accreditations in stroke care, cardiac care, spine surgery, and bariatric surgery.

Position Overview

The Cardiac Telemetry Med-Surg RN provides comprehensive nursing care to patients requiring cardiac monitoring and medical-surgical treatment. This role involves continuous assessment, coordination of care, medication administration, patient education, and collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments at the beginning of each shift and monitor patients throughout the care continuum.
• Identify changes in patient condition and communicate findings promptly to the healthcare team.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and established protocols.
• Monitor telemetry and assess patient responses to treatment plans.
• Carry out ordered procedures and clinical interventions.
• Recognize and respond appropriately to adverse medication reactions or unexpected patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, lifestyle modifications, and discharge instructions.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and support positive patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of Registered Nurse experience required.
• Experience may include acute care, LTAC, home health, or other nursing settings.
• Current Florida RN license or approved multistate RN license required.
• Nurses holding a compact license must obtain Florida licensure within 60 days of relocation.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of employment.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 90 days of employment.
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and critical-thinking skills.

Schedule
