Riverside, California | $120,000–$140,000 + Profit Sharing

A well-established window and door manufacturer is seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead its Riverside, California operation.

This is a hands-on plant leadership role with broad responsibility across manufacturing, production planning, warehouse and shipping operations, inventory, purchasing, maintenance, safety, quality, staffing, and continuous improvement.

The right candidate will inherit an operation with a capable workforce and meaningful opportunity to improve performance. We are looking for someone who can establish operating discipline, strengthen accountability, improve production flow, reduce backorders, and build a more consistent Lean operating culture.

This is not a commercially focused general-management position. The successful candidate will be an operations leader who enjoys being on the plant floor, developing people, solving problems, and turning performance data into measurable improvement.

The Opportunity

The Plant Manager will lead a non-union, single-shift manufacturing operation with approximately 110 employees. The facility manufactures vinyl window and door products and currently produces approximately 250–400 units per day.

Reporting directly to senior leadership, this individual will have the visibility and authority to influence the operation across multiple functions and lead meaningful change.

What You Will Lead

• Daily manufacturing and plant operations
• Production planning, scheduling, and output
• Warehouse, shipping, and on-time delivery
• Inventory control and purchasing coordination
• Maintenance and equipment reliability
• Safety, quality, labor efficiency, and cost performance
• Staffing, employee development, and accountability
• Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement
• KPI development, reporting, and corrective action
• Backorder reduction and improved production flow

Key Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day plant operations while delivering against safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity objectives.
• Build a visible, hands-on leadership presence throughout the facility.
• Improve production capacity, labor utilization, workflow, and operating flexibility.
• Strengthen production planning and reduce backorders.
• Establish and maintain meaningful plant KPIs, daily management practices, and performance accountability.
• Identify waste, unnecessary overtime, bottlenecks, and sources of manufacturing cost.
• Lead corrective actions and ensure problems are addressed at their root cause.
• Improve inventory accuracy, material availability, and coordination between purchasing, manufacturing, warehouse, and shipping.
• Ensure preventive and predictive maintenance programs support equipment reliability and reduced downtime.
• Maintain strong safety and quality standards throughout the operation.
• Recruit, train, coach, and develop plant leaders and employees.
• Support budget performance, margin improvement, cost reduction, and effective asset utilization.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement, urgency, ownership, and respect.

What We Are Looking For

• At least five years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience
• Experience leading a manufacturing plant or a substantial portion of plant operations
• Demonstrated success improving safety, quality, delivery, productivity, staffing, or cost performance
• Strong knowledge of Lean manufacturing and KPI-based operating management
• Experience managing production, warehouse, shipping, inventory, maintenance, or related supply-chain functions
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and people-leadership skills
• Bachelor’s degree in business, industrial engineering, engineering, operations, or a related field preferred
• Experience with ERP systems and common business software

Preferred Industry Experience

Experience in vinyl windows and doors is strongly preferred. We will also consider accomplished manufacturing leaders from related environments such as:

• Building products
• Plastics or extrusion
• Glass or fenestration products
• Fabricated or assembled products
• High-mix manufacturing
• Configure-to-order or make-to-order production

Compensation and Benefits

• Base salary of $120,000–$140,000 , depending on experience
