Account Manager - Industrial Distribution

Responsibilities This is an outside sales position selling to existing customers in the assigned territory of Rochester, NY, and surrounding areas. Creating and executing a territory sales plan that meets or exceeds stated revenue and profit targets. Optimizing call routes to maximize time in the field and overall efficiency. Meeting regularly with customers in the sales territory to understand their evolving needs. Identifying and pursuing new customer opportunities in the assigned territory. Monitoring real‑time opportunities at new businesses and/or business expansion in the assigned territory. Conducting cold calls to acquire new customers in the assigned sales territory. Educating potential customers on product offerings – Industrial Hose, Power Transmission Products, Conveyor Belting, Casters, Material Handling products. Building long‑term, productive, and mutually beneficial relationships with new customers. Being regularly available and responsive to customers’ real‑time needs. Identifying and executing local marketing activities to enhance local presence and grow sales. Reporting to the Sales Manager. Position Requirements An assertive personality, high energy level, and resilient character. Excellent verbal communication skills. A customer service‑oriented attitude and exhibit high integrity in all business dealings. Strong time management and organization skills. A valid driver’s license. High School Diploma or GED (2‑4 year college degree preferred). Preferred Qualifications Undergraduate Degree and/or prior sales experience. Rapidly building knowledge of Pooley product offerings. Identifying opportunities, negotiating and managing sales, managing business needs, and cost requirements. Understanding and using basic selling techniques: open, probe, presentation, overcoming objections. Compensation & Benefits Self‑directed, entrepreneurial work environment.
