Gourmet Foods Manager (Cheese, Charcuterie, Pantry)

Do you love cheese and gourmet foods? We do! Gary's Wine & Marketplace, owned and operated locally, is one of the largest brick-and-mortar and internet wine retailers in the tri-state area. At our stores, we offer one of the most extensive, competitively priced fine wine and cheese selections. We are well-known for our excellent, personable customer service and our knowledgeable wine staff.

The Gourmet Manager will develop expert knowledge of cheeses and gourmet items and identifies new products. They will meet with vendors to determine new products to bring into the store, mentor and train the Gourmet Team members, and will ensure compliance with Department of Health standards and state standards for weights and measures. This team member will be responsible for oversight of inventory, waste management, Gourmet Team scheduling, and reconciliation of purchase orders and invoices, along with other shift lead duties.

Major Areas of Responsibility:

*Using a thorough knowledge of our gourmet items, assist guests in the selection and pairing of cheeses with wine, beer and spirits

*Assist guests with the selection of gourmet items for gift baskets

*Keep abreast of knowledge and trends in gourmet items.

*Ensuring the rotation of gourmet stock and removing expired items from shelves and displays.

Requirements

*A strong sense of customer service

*Ability to lift 40 lbs.

*Must be 18 years of age

*Basic computer skills

Retail hours include working on weekends, some nights and holidays so applicants should have a flexible schedule.
