Physician - Medical Director Heart Transplant and VAD

Position Ochsner Health is seeking a BC Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiologist with expertise in mechanical circulatory support (MCS) and transplantation. Minimum of 5 years of post-fellowship experience is required. Responsibilities Provide clinical oversight (inpatient and outpatient) of the Advanced Heart Failure program. Lead quality improvement initiatives, including UNOS and CMS compliance. Develop and manage the MCS/Transplant program. Contribute academically in collaboration with the section Head of Advanced HF and LVAD and transplant surgical directors. Lead a multidisciplinary team consisting of 4 BC advanced HF staff physicians, 6 mid-level providers, and the 7th year advanced heart failure fellowship position. Demonstrate expertise in all aspects of Advanced Heart Failure, including inpatient, outpatient, and outreach services. Participate in the CardioMEMS program, amyloidosis program, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and cardiac sarcoid clinics, the Pulmonary Hypertension Clinic, and the cardiogenic shock initiative. Qualifications Board-certified in Cardiology with advanced training in Heart Failure. Minimum 5 years of post-fellowship experience. Expertise in mechanical circulatory support (MCS) and transplantation. Strong experience in clinical oversight, quality improvement, and academic collaboration.
