Assistant Controller

Earnest Products is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to join our growing Finance team in Sanford, Florida. Sanford, FL (On-site) Full-Time | Exempt $85,000-$100,000 (commensurate with experience and qualifications) Join a Growing Manufacturing Company Earnest Products is a privately held manufacturing company headquartered in Sanford, Florida. We manufacture high-quality metal enclosures, traffic products, LED signs, and custom fabricated solutions for customers across North America. Our Finance team plays an active role in supporting operational excellence, continuous improvement, and long-term strategic growth across the organization. What You'll Do You'll help manage the Company's accounting operations while ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial information. Responsibilities include: Lead and support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements Supervise day-to‑day accounting operations and workflow Review work prepared by accounting staff Strengthen accounting procedures and internal controls Support external audits and tax engagements Participate in ERP implementation and accounting system improvements Identify opportunities to automate and improve accounting processes Serve as a trained backup for payroll and benefits administration Support cross‑training and business continuity within the Finance department Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance Five or more years of progressive accounting experience Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP Experience leading or significantly participating in month‑end close Experience preparing financial statements and account reconciliations Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities Excellent written and verbal communication skills CPA/CMA license or intent to pursue CPA/CMA certification Preferred CPA and/or MBA Manufacturing accounting experience ERP experience within a manufacturing environment Experience supervising accounting staff Cost accounting exposure Experience supporting external audits Experience implementing accounting process improvements or ERP enhancements What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who: Takes ownership and follows through on commitments Enjoys improving processes and solving problems Thrives in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment Works collaboratively while managing responsibilities independently Demonstrates professionalism, integrity, and sound judgment Has a continuous improvement mindset and embraces new technologies Why Earnest Products?
